Barstool vs. Counter Stool

Low Back Black Vinyl Adjustable Bar or Counter StoolCustomers are often confused as to the difference between bar stool seating and counter stools. So what's the diff?

Barstools generally have seats that are around 30" high to fit under table tops of 40" to 42". Counter stools run 24" to 26" high for table surfaces that are 36" high.

Of course, these bar and counter heights may exist only in a perfect world! Because table counter heights do vary, it's good to keep in mind that it's best to allow about 12 inches between the stool seat and the countertop.

If finding the perfect height is an issue, or if you have kids, try looking at an adjustable bar stool. These quickly and easily adjust to any user or tabletop height. Take a look at our home decor furniture selection; we have a number of new barstool designs available.
